The Chiemsee Yacht Club - founded in 1913 and located on the western shore of Lake Chiemsee in Prien - is one of the most important Bavarian sailing clubs.

National and International Champions

The CYC is a recognized organizer of numerous ranking regattas in different boat classes. National and international champions in many categories are sailing under falg of the 800 members association.

The promotion of mass sport, the dedicated youth work and social club activities, are other pillars of the club scene (see also CYC Chronicle).

Challenging sailing conditions

One of the finest inland sailing areas in Germany is extended in front of the club - the "Bavarian Sea". Nestled in the foothills of the Alps of Chiemgau, the Chiemsee, with its area of 84qkm, serves varied and challenging sailing conditions for racing and cruising sailors.

European Blue Flag

In taking responsibility for nature and landscape-friendly practice of water sports on Lake Chiemsee, the port of CYC has been equipped with environmentally protective equipment. As an award for their exemplary commitment to the environment the CYC has been awarded for the third time the "European Blue Flag" of the German Society for Environmental Education (see also  Clubarea and environment).
